The Omaha Field Club area was developed by affluent families in the late 1800’s.  It was Omaha’s first suburb and was bounded on the east by the city’s largest green space, Hanscom Park.  The Omaha Field Club which was Omaha’s first country club and golf course roughly formed its west boundary and became the neighborhood’s namesake.
